Die Pionierstädte - The pioneer cities
Gemeinsam den Weg zu klimaneutralen Städten gestalten
Elf österreichische Pionierstädte bringen ihre Expertise und ihr Engagement in das ClimateLENS | KlimaBLICK-Projekt ein. Als Pilotpartner leisten sie einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Entwicklung praxisnaher Lösungen für das Monitoring und Reporting von Treibhausgasemissionen auf kommunaler Ebene.
Die Pionierstädte zählen zu den Vorreitern der österreichischen Klima- und Energiepolitik. Im Rahmen nationaler Innovationsprogramme sowie der EU-Mission 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities verfolgen sie das Ziel, den Weg zur Klimaneutralität aktiv mitzugestalten. Dabei verpflichten sie sich, ihre Fortschritte bei der Reduktion von Treibhausgasemissionen transparent zu dokumentieren und zu kommunizieren.
Im ClimateLENS | KlimaBLICK-Projekt bringen die Städte ihre Erfahrungen, Anforderungen und Daten direkt in die Entwicklung der Plattform ein. Dadurch entstehen Lösungen, die sich an den tatsächlichen Bedürfnissen der Kommunen orientieren und künftig eine effiziente, wissenschaftlich fundierte und anwenderfreundliche Klimaberichterstattung ermöglichen.
Working together towards climate-neutral cities
Eleven Austrian Pioneer Cities are contributing their expertise and commitment to the ClimateLENS | KlimaBLICK project. As pilot partners, they play a key role in shaping practical, user-oriented solutions for monitoring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions at the local level.
Austria’s Pioneer Cities are at the forefront of national climate and energy action. As part of national innovation programmes and the EU Mission 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, they are committed to accelerating the transition towards climate neutrality while transparently documenting and communicating their progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Within the ClimateLENS | KlimaBLICK project, these cities actively contribute their knowledge, requirements, and local data to the development of the project’s services and digital platform. Their involvement ensures that the solutions are designed around real municipal needs, resulting in practical, science-based tools that support effective climate reporting and informed decision-making.
